Biography

Ashley Hearn is originally from New Smyrna Beach, FL where she is still Co-Director and Dancer in RAKR Dance Company.  She graduated with a BFA in Dance from Florida State University, where she studied with renowned artists such as Suzanne Farrell, Dan Wagoner, Jawole Zollar, Lynda Davis, Terry Creach, Geri Houlihan, Susan Marshall, and Ben Levi. She also completed an internship at the Harkness Dance Center in New York City and a summer intensive at the Juilliard School.

Ashley also spent part of her professional career in Nashville, TN where she danced with both Company Rose, StillPoint Dance Theatre, and taught at Vanderbilt University's Dance Program and Ensworth School of Dance. 

RAKR Dance, formerly Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theater began in 2006, where she was a founding dancer.  Since then, Ashley has had the opportunity to tour Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, and the United States including performing at the renowned theater "Sadler's Wells" in London.  She has been a resident of Lakeland, FL since 2013 and Adjunct Professor of Dance at FSC since 2020.
